The Pittsburgh Chapter of the NAACP was started in 1915, six years after the inception of the national NAACP. It was started in the home of Attorney William H. Randolph.

Our longest serving president was Homer S. Brown, who in 1924 began a twenty-four year presidency of the Pittsburgh NAACP.
